In magic rituals, candles of various colors (frequencies) used to focus one’s intentions and manifest visualizations. In both Catholicism and voudou candles are an integral, symbolic part of worship. Candles are used on altars in petitioning saints (1), Hoodoo rootworkers, may divine information by noting the patterns made on glass by the candle as they burn. The rootworker may have a candle ministry in which they anoint them, pray over them, and arrange them on a candle alter atop biblical Psalms or petitions written on paper.
