Obeah is a form of sorcery practiced parts of Africa, the West Indies, South America, and southern United States during slavery for use against European slave masters. Obeah employs both good and evil magic charms and fetishes. Obeah is not a religion based upon the worship of a hierarchy of deities however, its practitioners do employ ancestor work, spirit possession, animal sacrifice and divination in their practice (1).
