A sigil is a symbol which is a visual representation of a supernatural being that can be used to summon or control it. Modern practitioners of magic use sigils as a representation of his/her desired outcome. Meditative focus on the sigil charges/activates it and aids the practitioner in manifesting/casting the spell. The Sigillum dei (Seal of God) is a powerful symbol which was said to allow practitioners of magic to engage with all spirits (1).
